Question 10

How much does it cost to live in Sri Lanka?

Accepted Answer

It depends heavily on location and lifestyle. As an indicative 2026 guide, a single person living comfortably on the South Coast typically spends around $1,000–$1,600 per month, while a couple is more often $1,700–$2,500. Rent is the largest variable, followed by air-conditioning use and imported groceries. LiveInLanka publishes a free cost of living calculator at https://liveinlanka.lk/cost-of-living that breaks this down by area, lifestyle, and household size.

Question 11

Which Sri Lankan visa or residence route is right for me?

Accepted Answer

It depends on how you earn, what you could deposit, how long you want to stay and whether you have a family tie to Sri Lanka. Our free visa & residency pathway finder at liveinlanka.lk/visa-finder compares the Digital Nomad Visa, Golden Paradise Residence Visa, Permanent Residence Visa (PRV) and other routes against your answers in about two minutes, and explains why each one does or does not fit.

Question 12

Is the visa finder result an official eligibility decision?

Accepted Answer

No. The finder gives general orientation based on published information, not legal advice or an eligibility decision. LiveInLanka is not a law firm, a government office or an immigration agent, and visa decisions are made only by Sri Lanka's Department of Immigration and Emigration. Where a detail has not yet been verified, the finder says it will be confirmed during your Discovery call.

Question 13

Fees and the full document list should be confirmed before you apply.
